Workshops and Show
with Maria and Nyla Crystal

WHEN: Sunday, April 29, 2012

12-2 PM  Drum Solo with Maria
http://www.orientdancer.com/
This workshop will focus on learning the fun drum solo choreography! Taking each combination one at a time, we’ll drill the necessary technique, polish the transitions and then put it all together. We’ll also review choreography “embellishments”: the alternations you can make, the expressions that fit well and the little tricks to keep your audience surprised and engaged.

2:30-4:30 PM  Beauty and the Sword with Nyla Crystal
http://www.nylacrystal.com/
More than just a prop, explore not only tricks but how to DANCE and create MYSTERY with this fabulous and exciting dance partner.  Balancing techniques provided - we will learn a short sword choreography you can practice for your next performance.  Double sword may also be covered in this class. Balanced sword/scabbard or scimitar needed.  Beginners or those unsure of sword work, please bring a bean bag or Beanie Baby to balance.
